Katherine Hyatt, LMHC , RYT 200

Katherine started practicing yoga in 2012 after relocating to the Finger Lakes, not realizing how it would impact and shape her future. She began practicing as a way to aid her in building strength, stability and self-regulation for running. The practice quickly evolved after a series of traumatic losses leaving her to crave the safety of the practice. Katherine completed her 200hr teacher training through Grounded By Yoga in Bloomfield, NY in June 2016 and from there developed what we now know as Branches of Growth Mental Health Counseling and Yoga Studio.
Katherine's mission has been to create a small, safe space for people to practice grounding, mindfulness, meditation and connecting with their bodies in a judgement free zone. Her favorite part of teaching is when students stop listening to her and listen to what their body needs. Katherine specializes in yoga classes specific to mental health (ie. yoga for mental wellness and yoga for anxiety), as both a yoga teacher and Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has attended many trainings on Trauma- Sensitive Yoga, Trauma Conscious Yoga, Childlight Yoga (teens, as well as baby and toddler), Yin Yoga, Yoga for Depression and Military Sexual Trauma. Katherine taught both chair yoga and in the inpatient psychiatric unit for a few years at the VA- pre-pandemic. She is also a Reiki 2 practitioner.

Quickly this evolved into a practice to maintain not only physical wellness, but also mental and emotional wellness. Danielle began her training with a teacher who taught Iyengar Vinyasa style classes focusing on alignment and breath. Additionally Danielle has been trained in yoga for body image concerns and trauma informed yoga. Danielle believes “All bodies are good bodies” and that yoga is for everyone. Danielle has been trained in many different styles of yoga, but her classes typically consist of slower moving postures, chakra discussion, breathwork, and deep stretching. Danielle maintains her own yoga practice as a means to center herself and to show her body and mind compassion and peace.
