Mindfulness is the practice of focusing your awareness on the present moment. It involves focusing on sensations to root yourself in your body in the here and now. The benefits of mindfulness include: increased focus, improved memory, stress reduction, and increased empathy. Music can be used as a tool to reinforce aspects of mindfulness. In this workshop, participants will engage in creative exercises that involve music and mindfulness and will learn how they can use music to enhance their own practice of mindfulness. No prior music experience is necessary!
