My name is Chloe McCaffery, and I am a graduate intern here at Branches of Growth. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Bonaventure University. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a concentration in forensic psychology. During my undergraduate studies, I competed as a Division I collegiate soccer athlete, where I was honored as Rookie of the Year and became a two-time America East Conference Champion. In addition to collegiate play, I competed during the summers on a local semi-professional soccer team, further expanding my experience in high-performance athletic environments. I am deeply passionate about providing and advocating for mental health services for athletes, as I understand firsthand the significant mental and emotional demands that competitive sports can place on an individual’s well-being. Throughout high school, I played on a top nationally ranked club team, which required year-round travel across the country while balancing academics, athletics, and personal life. Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the opportunities I was afforded, while also recognizing the critical need for increased mental health resources and support systems for athletes at all levels

Hi! My name is Mackenzie and I am currently a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor at Branches of Growth. I have been working in this position for a little over a year now. Prior to working here, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Sport Management and Holistic Health Studies at Wells College. I then received my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lemoyne College. My therapeutic specialties include working with athletes and balancing mental health and sport.
I have a passion for athletics as I played multiple sports including soccer, track and field, and lacrosse. I ran track and field for 4 years in high school, competing in the Pentathlon. I played soccer for 18 years within both school and club settings. I was a State Champion with my high school soccer team and I continued my career playing Division 3 soccer in college. Additionally, I played collegiate lacrosse for 4 years and earned all-conference accolades. Due to my experiences, I understand the pressures, challenges, and rewards of being a competitive athlete. |
