Nanette McMahon- White
Hi, I’m Nanette, a clinical mental health counseling practicum student at Saint Bonaventure University. My academic background in Criminology from Le Moyne College and my experience in crisis intervention have provided me with a nuanced understanding of systemic issues and the complexities of human experience.
I approach counseling through the lens of liberation psychology and decolonized therapy, which focus on empowering individuals by acknowledging and addressing the impact of societal systems and historical contexts on mental health. My aim is to create a supportive, empathetic space where clients can explore their personal stories and build resilience. I’m committed to helping clients navigate their paths with insight and empowerment, ensuring they feel truly heard and understood.
Outside of my professional life, I stay busy with a mix of hobbies like baking and cooking, and I love spending time with my dogs and family. I believe that a balanced life enriches my ability to connect with and support others
