Marco Marrero, Counseling Intern

My name is Marco Marrero (He/Him/His), and I am a bilingual mental health counselor-in-training from Washington Heights, New York City. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from CUNY School of Professional Studies in 2021 and am on track to graduate with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Oswego in May 2025.
Helping others has always been my passion, and throughout my life, I have worked in roles that focus on support and empowerment. I am committed to guiding individuals toward becoming the best versions of themselves, believing that resilience and self-growth are essential in overcoming life’s challenges.
In my counseling practice, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) due to its strong research-backed effectiveness with a wide range of clients. I also incorporate Motivational Interviewing to help individuals build self-efficacy and take meaningful steps toward change.
As you work to improve your mental health, I strive to provide the support, tools, and encouragement needed to help you navigate your journey toward healing and personal growth.
